Listing your Yacht for Charter

Many yacht owners find that there are weeks or months when it is not possible to be on board their yacht as often as they would like. Rather than keeping the yacht stationary in port, making the vessel available through Baja Charters is an excellent option to keep it in smooth working condition and receive income for an otherwise dormant asset. This option requires that the yacht owner has or appoints a licensed Naviera to secure a commercial charter license. The Naviera is responsible for tax reporting, licensing, official yacht safety inspections, national park permits, and interface with the Port Captain’s office. A Naviera may handle deposits, payments, and provide other services as needed by the individual yacht owner.

Baja Charters has been in the nautical charter business for fourteen years. The company owns yachts, and provides marketing, sales, and charter contracts for forty plus non-owned yachts. Baja Charters maintains multiple websites, has a blog database of over 150 articles with photos and maps, a 10,000 returning client subscriber newsletter database, and a robust YouTube channel with 130 videos.

Baja Charters has earned various hospitality awards, including the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence, Hallmark of Fame, Travel and Hotel Association Top Baja Charter company of the year. The company has toured Ambassadors, Governors, Olympic athletes, Film personalities and nine members of the British Royal Family, and hosted marine film productions of the BBC, National Geographic, and multiple other universities and media operations.

Yacht owners under the Baja Charters’ umbrella gain marketing, sales and contract negotiations, and when preferred, Baja Charters may function as the renter of the owner’s yacht at a wholesale rate on a transactional basis. We are prepared to provide a licensed captain, chef, food, beverages, open bar, deckhand, snorkel gear, wetsuits, a marine biologist as hostess and guide, kayaks, paddleboards, towels, sunscreen, and ground transportation to and from the yacht for contracting guests.

If a yacht owner has their own crew, and is prepared to deliver full services, then Baja Charters can provide the marketing, website, sales and calendar coordination at either an established commission rate, or function as the renter of the boat at a pre-established wholesale rate.

Charter revenues supplement a yacht’s operating budget and help to offset expenses. Let us know how we might best serve.

Baja Charters is a Naviera, a Mexican yacht agent registered with Port Authorities to represent foreign-owned yachts.
