Charter and Excursion Options

 

Definitions

The definitions set forth below are what Baja Charters uses to assist in communication and understanding. Our definitions are not necessarily the same for other providers.

 

Yacht:  Any up-market sailing or cruising vessel for private use ranging over 30’ in length

 

Boat: Any sailing or cruising vessel that is not for private charter, is not of up-market construction for private use, and any vessel that is less than 30’ in length

 

Charter: Refers to the exclusive hiring of a private yacht or boat for a period of time.

 

Excursion: Any up-market tour. Typically, charged on a per guest basis for joining a pre-scheduled nautical activity.

 

Tour: Any activity designed for a specific purpose for groups of unrelated guests.

 

Sunset Charter: Typically, a 2 ½ to 3-hour private evening cruise. Usually private sunset charters will include food or snacks, an open bar, sodas, beer, white wine or champagne, and bottled water.

 

Half-day Charter: Typically, a 4 to 5-hour private cruise, usually with an event in mind, such as snorkeling, fishing, bird watching, whale watching, swimming with whale sharks, sea lions, tropical fish, exploring quiet coves, beaches, and bays, scuba diving, spear-fishing, etc.  Yacht charters normally include meals, beer, sodas, bottled water, and an open bar.

 

Full-day Charter: Typically, an 8 to 9-hour private cruise, usually with an event in mind, such as snorkeling, fishing, bird watching, whale watching, swimming with whale sharks, sea lions, tropical fish, exploring quiet coves, beaches, and bays, scuba diving, spear-fishing, etc. Yacht charters normally include meals, beer, sodas, bottled water, and an open bar.

 

 

Overnight Charter: Same as a full-day charter, but including a Sunset Cruise and an overnight experience either sleeping below or above deck, sometimes on a beach.

 

Multi-day Charter: All of the above for a group of guests for a series of consecutive days.

 

Charter Pricing: For yachts, this typically indicates, an All-Inclusive activity, with all amenities, including crew, fuel costs, park fees, equipment needed for the planned activity, meals, beverages, fresh-laundered towels, open bar, and so forth. Tips and taxes are separate.

 

Boat charter pricing typically does NOT include food, fishing licenses, park fees, beverages, bait, and may have fuel surcharges. Equipment needed to fulfil the charter objectives, such as fishing gear, snorkel gear, etc., is typically included in the boat charter price.
